How did the increased time spent at home during the lockdown impact the couple? What cases of conflict arose? Did the levels of relationship satisfaction with your partner increase or decrease? What changes have you noticed in the relationship dynamics?
These are just some of the questions we posed to the public participating in the project to reflect on and set up a debate led by the artist Susan Harbage Page, who brought together the materials sent by each couple, photographic images and/or texts, to create a participatory work entitled Corporeal Cartography in the time of Covid, an artistic installation that presents itself as the creation of a mapping, capable of expressing the “condition” that we experienced at home during the health emergency, leading to the acknowledgement of witnessing ourselves in person.
Every photograph, every text is a testimony of an experience that finds space in a participatory work, created by Susan, which fuels dialogue, exchange, activating energies of a collective nucleus with respect to the entropy that each of us perceived during the lockdown period. Involvement, participation are characteristics of Susan’s artistic work that encourages co-creation. The work pulsates with presences, like a fabric in which the plot conceived by the artist is completed with the warp, made up of fragments of life.
SINCRESIS, an association for contemporary arts and WINDMILL, ART POWER PLANT, an association oriented towards artistic research of the female universe through a database of international presences, have promoted with Cesvot this project enriched by the works created during the lockdown by the invited artists.
Using different media, such as photography, painting, graphics, installation, each of them has manifested through a significant work their own tensions, their own “state” during the health emergency.
The exhibition that brings together the project carried out by the artist Susan Harbage Page with the participating public and the works of the artists mentioned in this press release will be inaugurated on September 16, 2022 at 5:00 pm, after two days of work with Susan for the development of the participatory work and the global installation of the proposed works.
