Biography

I am Claudia Quintieri and I born in Rome in 1975 and graduated at La Sapienza University of Rome in Literature and Philosophy with a specialization in Contemporary Art History.

As an artist I counts numerous solo and group exhibitions in private galleries and contemporary art museums, both in Italy and other contries. Besides being an artist I am also a writer and a journalist. I published “La Voglia di Urlare” in 2012, “E così la Bambina è Caduta” in 2014, “Palermo mon amour” in 2020, “Raggiro del mondo in 80 anni” co-written with Giorgio Fabretti in 2020, and Poesie di Quarantena in 2021.

From the point of view of literary research she can use the same words used for artistic research. As concerns art, I was into video art mostly from the beginning, and later I also approached to photography. I am always been interested by the concept of identity: interior, spiritual, intimate, social that goes to investigate what is under the skin of reality, following my desire for the research and discoveries which have been always new consonants with the idea that I was expressing. Each video has its own style and technique based on the pattern or the inspiration of a specific time, but always respecting its idea of ​​identity.

The first videos focus on the visualization of dreams and memories and then move on to give life to reflections that are often intimate and spiritual or social. The deepening of the intimate and spiritual side runs through all his work in the belief that in the world and in the art of our contemporaneity there is a need for reflection on these issues. But also social issues are important to give rise to an always veiled criticism of human and natural situations that start from a desire to improve our world with a contribution that perhaps will remain unheard, even if it exists. Most of my works have inherent delicacy and light expressiveness that lead to abstraction.

My journey is an evolution that also becomes personal in inner growth. My feeling starts from suggestions, emotions, evolution of thought, investigation into spirituality, which become concrete in the moving images. My work can bring you in a descent towards oneself. As a journalist I currently works for the magazines Inside Art, Art a part of cult (ure) and Lebiennali.com.

My first steps as an artist were taken at MLAC – La Sapienza Museum of Contemporary Art in Rome, and later at the Palazzo delle Esposizioni in Rome, at the ArtMbassy Gallery in Berlin, at the MAAM – Museo dell’Altro e dell’Altrove by Metropoliz in Rome, at the Bilotti Museum in Rende – Cosenza, at the Independent Art Festival – Nexst in Turin, at the MACRO Museum – Museum of Contemporary Art in Rome, at the MAD – Museo D’Arte Diffusa, Museo Emilio Greco, Sabaudia, at the Artrooms Fair at the Church Palace Hotel in Rome, at the Tiny Biennale Temple University Rome Campus, Rome, at the WOW project presented at the MAXXIMediterraneo in Rome, at the GAM – Galleria d’Arte Moderna in Rome, at Le Dame Art Gallery, Melia White House, London, at the Galleria Gallerati in Rome, at the Gallery BorghiniArteContemporanea in Rome, at Doral Contemporary Art Museum. She was a finalist in the Switch The Roules photo contest of the Ermanno Casoli and Elica Foundation at Pastificio Cerere, Rome and took part in the BoCs Art Cosenza Residence. And many others solo and collective exhibits. She’s also written many critical texts on contemporary artists.

2004   Graduated with 110/110 e lode in Storia dell’Arte alla facoltà di Lettere La Sapienza, Roma. Speaker the professor Simonetta Lux. Thesis on “Claudio Verna”, a part was pubblished on magazine www.luxflux.net with the title “Claudio Verna: ragione e sentimento”.

1992-1993 She obteined the classical high scool diploma at Istituto Santa Giuliana Falconieri with a thesis on Futurismo.

FORMATION

2005 Partecipated at course in cine-radio-television screenwrite at Centro Mezzelani. Teachers Luigi Sardiello e Volfango De Biasi.

2004 partecipated at course of screenwrite “Laboratorio di cinema” at B&CNetwork. Teachers Gino Capone, Daniele Costantini. Interventi di: Francesca Marciano, Mario Monicelli, Roberta Colombo, Carlo Lizzani.

1995-1996 Partecipated at the research project on Giulio Camillo, sextheent century humanist coordinated by Maurizio Calvesi. The project with the title of “Il mondo virtuale di Giulio Camillo” was illustrated in a conference and published by Università degli Studi La Sapienza of Roma.
