Biography
Lucia Mazzoni was born in Tuscany in Prato in 1935.
She obtained the classical high school diploma at the Convitto Cicognini, later she graduated in Pharmacy in Florence and began the profession as a pharmacist.
In the following years she decided to devote herself seriously to her real passion, that is painting. Then she was admitted to the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence where she graduated in 1968.
In 1969, thanks to the first prize in a painting course, she did the first exhibition in Rome, with good critical results.
Numerous exhibitions will follow around Italy, mainly in Florence, Venice, Verona and Prato. The techniques used are many, at first the oil, then the watercolor and largely the engraving.
In the mid-seventies she deepens the engraving technique by attending a highly specialized course at the “International Center of Graphics in Venice”.
All the works are united by the same inspirational thread: nature, flowers, olive trees and dry stone walls that surrounded her home in Tuscany.
Last exhibition was in 1978 in her hometown Prato, at the gallery “Metastasio di Prato” where she has always been an active participant in the artistic and cultural life.
